Steps to Installing a Gasket on a Flange

Make sure the flange faces are clean, dry, and not contaminated with oil or grease.
Align the gasket centrally on the flange, using the bolt holes as reference points.
Apply adequate lubrication to the fasteners, ensuring all contact surfaces on bolts, nuts, and washers are thoroughly coated.
Fit the bolts, along with washers and nuts, into the flange holes.
Secure the bolts using finger pressure in a clockwise or circular sequence.
Employ a properly calibrated torque tool and tighten bolts in a crisscross (star) pattern using three separate passes.
Tighten to 100% of the specified torque by following a circular pattern. Afterward, allow 4 hours to pass.
Ensure all bolts are brought to the target torque by continuing circular passes to finalize the installation.
